The Solution
At our first meeting, Brooke described the main drivers behind the project and reiterated the need for a solution that could easily be deployed across their different regional offices. They were also keen to understand the projected cost model to support a much wider rollout.
Following this meeting, a set of critical success factors were defined for the project which included providing a cost effective, resilient, performant and secure platform.
After analysis of the requirements, a solution was recommended to use the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform.
The People
Alscient’s Cloud Evangelist Carl Chalfont said, “The decision to recommend Amazon Web Services was an easy one. The depth and breadth of services enabled us to meet all of our client’s requirements within the one platform.”
Brooke’s Head of IT added, “As a charity, spending on the mission of the charity is of paramount importance. The ability to pay for the amount of resource we needed was an attractive proposition for us. Alscient have demonstrated the power and potential of the AWS platform.”
The Result
AWS has enabled Brooke to lower their IT support and maintenance costs significantly and in turn this allows them to make better use of their charitable donations. A uniform desktop experience across offices has increased productivity.
The best possible user experience has been achieved by using a low latency connection. The solution is also easy to scale to meet changing usage patterns.
A series of automation scripts have been provided which allow new environments to be provisioned quickly and easily in different geographic regions and reduce the cost of failure.
